Indian Rail Budget by D V Sadananda Gowda Evaluated

Well, after the presentation of the Rail Budget 2014-15 in the Parliament by D V Sadananda Gowda, there has been different types of reaction by the public. People with a good vision has praised it but opposition says they are disappointed. However I consider it an excellent budget and probably best compared to past 10 year budget.

Mr. Gowda has focused on the execution of currently pending plans rather than to lay out new plans in a big way. He said the problem is the revenue generation by the railways. After cutting down the expenses railways only earn 6 paisa out of 1 rupee. Mr. Gowda was looking fully prepared with his reports and that too with exact numbers of the expenditure.

Mr. Gowda said there are about 99 projects which were announced during past 30 years but only about 4 of them are actually completed. Mr. Gowda announced some world class plans which are to be involved in the Indian railway during upcoming time. He not only presented an overall growth of Indian railways but also Presented about 45 new trains including 8 passengers, 27 express, 5-5 AC premium and janasadharan trains.

Following the Vision of PM Mr Narendra Modi ji he also focuses on the involvement of information technology in the railways to make it more close to the people. He said that, the on line ticketing system will be moved to next generation ticketing system which will generate about 8000 tickets per minute which was 2000 tickets per minutes. He also said that the general class and platform tickets will also be available on line.

While worrying about the increasing expenses and low budget of railway he focused on the FDI in railways and PPP link. He mentioned the involvement of private sector in the housekeeping of the selected stations. Not only focusing on the infrastructure he also lays out the welfare of railway employees.

He mentioned that railway is the biggest recruiter in the country with overall about 1.3 million employees nation wide. He also included the special training of employees on regular interval to improve their personal and professional skills. Not only this, he also proposed to increment the staff fund cut from 500 to 800 rupees. He also mentioned to start special centralized school services to the children of the railway employees.

Mr. Gowda seek to start special railway based technology to be taught in the university course. He also plans to have special railway university in India which will do research and development on the improvement of railway technologies along with teaching the students seeking career in Railways.

Mr. Gowda focused the budget on cleanliness and passenger amenities. He said railway takes millions of passengers everyday, it is the prime focus of railway to provide them better facilities. He said the security and facilities of railways will be improved. A and A1 class stations will be equipped with the wi-fi and some selected trains will be equipped with the workstations for the business travelers.

Mr. Gowda present 21000 jobs in the RPF. where in 17000 males and 4000 female vacancies will be laid out. The trains and stations will be equipped with CCTV cameras and every lady coach will be escorted by a Female RPF constable. Mr. Gowda said some selected major stations will be developed to provide the Airport class facilities on those stations. He also seek the involvement of NGOs and private sector to make this happen.

Mr. Gowda plans to make some routes electrical lines, and double , triple the lines on some routes. He also mentioned the success of semi-bullet train trial, and said soon there will be trains running with the speed of 140 to 200 kmph on some selected routes. He also promises to give India its first bullet train which will be run on the Mumbai - Ahmadabad route. For this he says India is taking help from japan and to support the finance he seek the FDI in railways.

Mr. Gowda said India has biggest railway network and freight network. He seeks to reform the freight facilities in railway and also to provide the Internet booking facility to the freight customers. He said the railway is the key of Indian economy but due to bad planning during the past it is suffering.

To conclude the discussing i would like to say, there has been more focus on making a strong impression on all kind of people in relation with railways. Over all growth has been considered rather than any regional pleasing. Soon we can see some major turn over in the railway sector, and let us hope this is a first step to take India towards the ultimate success.

World outside the window

Sitting near the window of my hotel room, I could see the full moon shining bright in the cold mountain night. Must be around 10 or 11 degrees. I could feel the light breeze on my face. Just looking outside the window, it was beautiful, even in the night.  A silent full moon night high up in mountains could be so beautiful and soothing. I felt like my mind was empty of all thoughts. Like naturally meditating with eyes wide open and looking out into silhouette of huge mountains, like staring into wast spread of nothingness.  I could see tiny lights twinkling on small buildings spread across the small town near Shimla, India. Sometimes when i came to senses, a sudden flood of thoughts streaming through the brain. How much we(humans) have progressed. How much nature had paid for our actions. Constantly digging the heart of mountain to make clearings for agriculture and buildings. Yet, nature is forgiving and let us be in peace.  Peace, which is perhaps pet word of my best friend. He is

Death is NOT the END

It wasn’t a fine day; in fact I think no day could be fine without her in my life. I was missing her so much. Since we separated, my life was nearly finished. I had no will left to live. Everything seemed so tough and harsh. All I was left with, was a broken heart full of hatred . I hated almost everything which seemed so beautiful when we were together. I was thinking about her as usual. Its been two full months since we stopped talking. I was dying to hear her voice to see her name on screen of my cell-phone. But it was   nothing but a waste. “How could you not stop thinking about her?” I said to myself. Because I was all alone without her, only she could understand me, only she knows me well. But now what? I was talking to myself in loneliness. Even this was not very usual. I used to keep away from everyone. I didn’t like to talk or laugh anymore. It all reminds me of time which I spent with her. “She wants you to be happy. Can’t you give yourself a break.” I s
